Aurignac Finance advised the shareholders of SOFEMA, a leading French provider of defense equipment and specialist in the maintenance and operational readiness of military platforms across the land, aerospace and naval sectors, on the entry of Elevation Capital Partners into its share capital as a minority shareholder. Two years after its acquisition by the management team, SOFEMA is continuing its strong growth trajectory and is taking a further step towards scaling up its operations, against a backdrop of sustained increases in defense spending in France and internationally.

An integrated defense player

SOFEMA provides equipment, spare parts and tailored solutions to defense and security organizations across the land, aerospace and naval sectors. Its offering covers the supply of platforms and equipment, spare parts sourcing, repair, maintenance and in-service support. Its services include consulting, logistics, technical assistance and training, covering the entire value chain from needs definition through to the support of equipment in operational use.

The Company stands out for its unique expertise in legacy equipment and its strategic inventory of approximately 20 million parts, enabling it to serve government customers, armed forces, defense manufacturers and specialized operators with speed and responsiveness, both in France and internationally.

More than 90 years of experience

Founded in 1997 through the merger of two French defense procurement offices, O.F.E.M.A and S.O.F.M.A, SOFEMA today draws on more than 90 years of experience serving the defense sector. Privatized in 1998 and subsequently owned for more than 25 years by a consortium of French industrial companies in the sector, the Company was acquired by its management team in 2024 — Frédéric Tisserand, Christian Kamara and Christophe Krummenacker. The Company generated revenues of nearly €50 million in 2025, with a 30% growth target for 2026.

Headquartered in Levallois-Perret, SOFEMA operates two strategic sites in Déols (36) and La Teste-de-Buch (33). The Déols site is dedicated to the modernization of land-based equipment, equipment and spare parts storage, as well as logistics activities. The La Teste-de-Buch site serves as a major logistics hub for the Company’s aerospace activities.

Since its acquisition by the management team in 2024, SOFEMA has benefited from strong business momentum, supported by increased defense spending in France and internationally. SOFEMA aims to establish itself as the partner of choice for leading French and European defense manufacturers, as well as ministries and French agencies working on behalf of international organizations. Elevation Capital Partners’ entry into the Company’s share capital as a minority shareholder fully supports this ambition, with the aim of providing long-term support to the management team as the Company scales up.

Christian Kamara, CEO, SOFEMA : « SOFEMA is delighted to welcome Elevation Capital Partners as a shareholder, a partner of choice that shares our values and is committed to supporting French defense SMEs through its Elevation Patria fund. We are delighted to embark on this new and ambitious chapter, with Elevation Capital Partners. »

Raphaël Brenier, Aurignac Finance : « SOFEMA is truly a unique Company in the defense and security sector, with an exceptional market position, which the Elevation Patria team clearly recognized.
